The Naples Players cast Our Town
The Naples Players have announced the cast for Our Town, to be performed in Blackburn Hall November 27 through December 21, 2013.
Jim Corsica will portray the Stage Manager who serves as narrator of the story.    He assumes many small parts as he guides this play about life in a small town. Corsica was last seen at The Naples Players as Jim Haller in All Shook Up, as Ernie Cusack In Rumors And Daddy Warbucks In Annie.
Brigid Wallace will portray the role of Emily Webb. Recently, Wallace played The Factory Girl and was part of the ensemble in KidzAct’s teen production of Les Miserables. Wallace also played the witch in KidzAct’s Into the Woods.
Michael Frank will play George Gibbs. This will be Frank’s debut performance with The Naples Players. Previously, Gibbs played the role of Bob in the short play 11:43 at Theatre 503 in London.
Ray Kane takes on the role of Dr. Gibbs. This will also be Kane’s debut performance with The Naples Players. Previously, Kane played Sam Nash in Plaza Suite with the Marco Players.
Nancy Menaldi-Scanlan will play Dr. Gibb’s wife, Julia (Hershey) Gibbs. Her first performance with The Naples Players since playing Julia in The True Story Of The Three Little Pigs four years ago. Menaldi-Scanlan has taught drama to and directed plays with performers of all ages, most recently for The Naples Player's Kidzact Summer Camp.
Sharon True will portray the role of Mrs. Webb. True last played the Hair Hag, and was part of the ensemble in The Naples Players' Les Misérables.
Mr. Webb will be played by Greg White. White is coming back to the theatre after a 20 year hiatus, as he was at the Kon Tiki Theatre in 1993.
Thomas Richardson will play Wally Webb and Larry Shoop will play Simon Stimson. Sophia-Bella Carrasquillo and Diliana Gresbrink will share the role of Si Crowell. The role of Joe Crowell will be played by Joe Byrne. Andrew Ciliberto will perform as Howie Newsome and Mrs. Soames will be played by Carla Grieve. Len Becker will play Constable Warren. Jessica Daniels and Amanda Pasler will share the role of Rebecca Gibbs.
The townspeople will be played by Douglas Casement, Rhonda Davis, Scott Doucette, Cynthia Graf, Michelle Langlas, Preslie True, Denise Villarreal, Carolyn, Weinand and Mariel Weinand.
Set in the early 20th century in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, the play explores the beauty of love, marriage, family and the everyday precious moments that may be taken for granted. Known for its minimalistic use of set and props, Our Town, provides a Stage Manager that narrates the love story of George Gibbs and Emily Webb.
The show will be performed Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students 21 and under, and can be purchased at the box office, by calling 239.263.7990 with credit card information, or by visiting naplesplayers.org. Sugden Community Theatre is located at 701 5th Avenue South on the Plaza in downtown Naples.
