For Immediate Release

Marco Island, FL: (October 10, 2013) . . .The Box Office is open and tickets are currently on sale for the Island Theater Company's production of Blame It On Beckett  sponsored by Centennial Bank.

What really goes on behind the scenes in a major regional new England  non-profit theater?  Blame It On Beckett, is the clever, witty, comedy by John Morogiello, that gives a peek into all of the drama found backstage.

Meet Jim Foley, played by John Moulton. A jaded, cynical Literary Manager with a penchant for caffeine and chaos. He’s been in the biz way too long and never achieved the success he so desperately craves. His small office overflows with half empty coffee cups and mountains of manuscripts he can’t be bothered to read. Jim believes that the thousands of pathetic plays cluttering his office can be blamed on countless English professors encouraging their talentless students to become the next Samuel Beckett.

Into Jim’s derelict lair steps Heidi Bishop, played by Abby Yetter. A bright eyed, newly minted MBA who hopes to make the leap from box office to back office. She sees this internship as an invaluable opportunity to nurture emerging playwrights.

At first she seems like Mary Poppins, but it turns out Eve Harrington would be more like it, as Heidi manipulates everyone around her to get what she wants. A wonderful comedy with heart and a message, Blame It On Beckett asks the question: how far are we willing to sacrifice our soul to get ahead? And once we do it, was it worth it?
